A customer asked: “My air compressor has not been drained for two months, what will happen?” If the water is not drained, the water content in the compressed air will increase, affecting the gas quality and the back-end gas-using equipment; the oil-gas separation effect will deteriorate, the pressure difference of the oil-gas separator will increase, and it will also cause corrosion of the machine parts.
How is water produced?
The internal temperature of the air compressor head is very high when it is working. The moisture in the natural air inhaled will form water vapor during the operation of the air compressor. The air tank can not only provide a buffer and storage space for the compressed air, but also reduce pressure and temperature. When the compressed air passes through the air tank, the high-speed airflow hits the wall of the air tank to cause confluence, which quickly drops the temperature inside the air tank, liquefies a large amount of water vapor, and forms condensed water. If it is humid weather or winter, more condensed water will be formed.
When is drainage generally done?
According to the specific use environment and working conditions, regularly drain condensed water or install an automatic drainer. Mainly depends on the humidity of the inhaled air and the outlet temperature of the air compressor.
